So much money and I don't even know what to do with it all. Just sitting around until it runs out seems kind of boring if I do it for too long, so I think I should use it on something that will keep things interesting.

I can't even think right now. There's so many options when you're stupid rich.

go buy yourself some land and ask money for rent and shit, then hoard it and sit on it, or more likely in your case, lay on it seductively in a bikini.

The point is, you should invest it while you go about obtaining MORE GOLD.
Also go see what your little boytoy it up to.

Buy yourself and him some awesome outfits, big fur coats

Here's an interesting investment.

Security.

Whether you like it or not, your face is probably going to be the most recognized one around when word gets out that you're the one that took down the golem and received the reward. It's more than likely some punk(s) is going to get it into their head that they can take you on and snatch that money out from under you. I don't know how advanced the banking system is in your area, but a good investment is land. Preferable defensible and a place to stash your new-found hoard.
Then, go full kobold and line the place with death traps and bask in the new investment opportunity of taking money from the fools that go through your death gauntlet. If we're smart about this, there's no risk to your riches.

I recommend getting some more training in your draconic powers. Perhaps, for example, learning to fly. Everybody is suggesting that you invest your money to make more money, but remember how you got it in the first place: skillfully completing a difficult mission. That's where you need to invest, something you are already good at.

>>276714
There's many options actually:

Work wise:
1. Go find your father. or...
2. Learn to fly. or...
3. Train your magics skills.

On the other hand:

1. Ask Jehral out on a date. And I mean a ROMANTIC date. You know: Flowers, dinner, a walk on the beach, etc.
2. Ask your mother to teach you random dragon stuff. You know. Mother/daughter bonding.
3. Buy a fuckload of senseless, useless crap you like. Or the bar itself if you feel like it.

Spend some it (read: A lot of it) to train at magic/fighting/whatever, to buy awesome shit (weapons, armour etc), generally things to make yourself more awesome.
Then you can get more money more easily, which you can use to make yourself even more awesome, and then repeat the process infinitely!

First, this:
>>276745

Then, training! Upskilling yourself is a method of investing money that you can seldom lose out on. Now, if I recall, your magic is more internal and ordinary study doesn't help much, but it would be helpful for you to know a bit of the who and the what and suchlike behind it. Also some standard adventurey type knowledge, geography and monstrous zoology and such. Maybe pick up another language, so you can travel to new places? Or perhaps you can round out your warrior-magey type abilities with more training in stuff like stealth and climbing and locks and whatnot. Besides all that, if you can find a trainer for shapeshifting you need to do it. Or at last someone who can teach you to fly.

Picking up some sort of magic equipment might be a good idea, too. Also... maybe send a wee itty bit of tribute to your mom? Just to keep you on her good side.

> there's gotta be someone better
Not that we know of.
Admittingly our fascination with Jehral stems from two primary factors:
1) He's a half-kobold, too!
2) He's adorable.

Additionally, we just don't really know anybody else, except for some of the other mercenaries, and Jehral's the one who is both most reasonably compatible and willing to put up with our crap.

In order to find someone else, we'd actually have to go out and meet other people! And Rynh's not exactly a social butterfly.

Being totally stupid rich might open a lot of doors, though.

Have a magic weapon made for yourself. Every serious opponent during your job seemed to turn aside normal attacks like they were nothing.

You need a serious weapon to up your odds of success in high-profit ventures. Maybe a dagger that's suitable for throwing, magicked to return to you (safely) while being strong enough to pierce supernatural critter hides. It would also be semi-concealable and more appropriate for day-to-day carry than a sword or a spear.

Invest some into permanent long-term stuff like land and businesses. Stash a little of it away. Use some to finance a caravan of your own. You've seen how the caravan business operates so why not run a caravan to make more money while you think of something else to do? You don't even have to spend as much on guards since you're a pretty powerful force all by yourself.

Maybe you should also buy a magical weapon like people are saying. Something to go with your fire affinity, strength and quick aggressive style like a longsword with an explosive spell tip... A sort of pierce and destroy deal. You need to work out a good way to deal with those tough, strong opponents you keep running into.

You could also go play on the beach, like practice your dragon flight over the water. Because being able to fly is godly.

Invest in your equipment and skills. Based upon your success at the most recent job, I would recommend outfitting yourself as a lethal infiltrator type- items to help you go unseen and unheard, take out enemies quickly (poisons, learn about them), move about quickly and unhindered in unexpected ways (walk on walls? Walk through walls? Open locks with magic and talent instead of fighting ogres?), all that kind of thing. Focus your magical and physical studies in the same direction, and you should be able to pick up some very nice tricks and start taking more jobs just as nicely-paying as the last one.

I've got about fifty thousand and change. That's not enough for any personal army or anything, but it could commission a few quality items from an artificer or enroll at one of the big mage academies, either way I'd probably burn up most of the money.

>have your brother help you invest it
I don't even know if he's really a merchant or if he just poses as one to hide amongst mortals. He or my mother are the only people I know with enough money to pawn this ruby off on though. My mother would for sure.

>Maybe learn to do some of the external mana thing that non-dragons do? Since apparently that doesn't tire you out?
That takes a lot of studying books and sitting in dark libraries and I've never been the studying type. Dragon sorcery just requires that you have willpower and strength and things explode.

>Use some to finance a caravan of your own.
Oh gods. I'd have to try to keep track of the markets and weather and politics and bandits.

>ENCHANTED weapons. You seem to run into a lot of superhumans. Could do with some glowy cranium crackers.
I should pick up some kind of magical weapon. That's just a good investment right there.

There's still a lot of choices that don't involve sleeping with Jehral.
I think that magic weapon should be my first goal.

You could get one of those weapons enchanted to convert into other weapons, but then you'd be expected to train with fifty things, and why not just bring fifty weapons at that point and blah.

Spear enchanted to pierce better. Like a drill tip or something. No reason this has to be complicated.

Armor might be another wise investment, though I guess it depends on where we're going to put more points this time around. Jewelery is always in fashion, though.

Hey, here's a thought. It's an incredibly stupid thought, but at least it'd be something to do:

Go get a magic weapon and take down your mother. No, really. Think about. If you succeed you'll have more money than you could ever dream of, and as an added bonus, you will have bested her in combat, which is probably about the only way you'll ever make her proud of you.

And if you fail, well, she's your mom. Maybe she'll make your death a mite more painless than it would have been otherwise.

What have you to lose (besides literally everything)?

>enchanted weapon
there are some rules you should follow here
1. Never buy an enchanted item from shady looking store.
2.If the weapon has ruins that are written in a long lost language.
3. Avoid the colors black, red, glowing red, rusted, or orange. Apart from being generally bad colors they clash with your outfit.
4. If the weapons speaks and tells you to kill throw it out. In fact avoid talking weapons in general.
5. If the weapon is embroidered with some form of phallic symbolism avoid.
6. Most important always make sure you know EXACTLY what it does.
(feel free to contribute)

>not rolling around naked in the money
Seriously, you're fucking rich. Even if you're going to spend it, you really should enjoy the cash while you've got it.

As far as weapons... swords are essentially the best weapons you can get for single combat. The advantages of spears mostly apply to military engagements. Thing is, a weapon is just a weapon. Thinking "I ought to get a magic weapon, because I have spare cash" isn't really a way to go about things. First we need to think: What magic do you actually need? So far it seems like you're pretty good all around. There's nothing you need magic to help you with.
If you really want to spend all your money now, I guess look around and see if there's anything unusual available, but you don't actually need any sort of magical weapon at this point. You have both magic and weapons independent of each other, which suits your offensive needs adequately. Really, an investment towards future wealth would be ideal, but of course, if you can't manage your own funds, it's not super liable to work out for you. Although, you could at least buy yourself a home of some sort; that doesn't require much business sense, and it would give you a place to keep your shit and prevent you from needing to stay in inns. It's also a start towards being more than a mere mercenary.

Meh. If you keep getting awesome weapons, you'll eventually need a regular place to keep 'em all.

You got a place you can actually say is 'yours', Rynh? Like.. actually owned and not rented or borrowed or something? Or are you cool with your current living accommodations?

Or, perhaps you could buy shares in your favorite bar? Maybe you could get a bit of preferential treatment or something. Shares in the merc company might be good, too. ...or heck. Maybe just buy good, non-magical weapons for your allies.

Then again, perhaps you could just sit on it for a while and take some small, easy job. Maybe you'll come across a good use for it when working?

On an unrelated note, that's a pretty nice looking outfit you've got, too. Very lovely. Cost you much?

Rynh should get a private demiplane. Settle for nothing less than the most extreme of decadence. Learning how to make one will take a long time and a hell of a lot more magic than she's got at the moment, but she's got time. And it'll be awesome.

Right a few thoughts on the situation:

Magical training is a good idea, but arcane training takes time and you prefer your innate willpower magic. Don't go to mage school, find some other person with similar abilities to train you or partner up with. Then you can share tricks, compete and inspire each other. Master what you have.

Spears are great for warfare, but they don't work as well in cramped quarters or against surprise attacks.

You should consider leaving the hardcore mercenary business. This golem job will be hard to top and the risks are massive while you barely break even on most jobs. You have money and you'll be best off using it cleverly to make more money.

Consider selling your giant ruby at an auction for high end magical goods far away from where you found it. The auctioneer will obviously try to get you the best possible value for it.

>wouldn't it be fun to have a nice, somewhat mundane adventure that isn't exactly trying to kill us constantly?

I guess that could be good. Basic adventuring is still a decent way to make a living, even though the death toll is still really high. There's enough bandits, gnoll raiders, goblin kidnappers, kobold sneak thieves and random monsters roaming the countryside to keep anyone busy.

>keep the ruby as a souvenir

For now. I really don't have any need for more money at the moment and it's just so damn shiny.

First I need to stop rolling around on my cash and get that sparkling new weapon. The best defense is a good offense and defense keeps you alive.
Quegmar Ironhammer is the local Dwarven weaponsmith and he makes excellent weapons for enchanting, so I'll probably get something from him. Something powerful and legendary and not too expensive.

I generally use swords. They're useful in most situations, but maces and axes do huge amounts of damage too. Decisions, decisions.

Pick the weapon you're most comfortable with - a sword, I assume. I'd ask if you wanted to use anything in the other hand, but I assume you're keeping that for your magic. So, something light enough for one-handed use, but that you can swing two-handed if you need to for extra power. Although... since you'll have magic for ranged attacking, perhaps something short and sturdy, maneuverable, good for defense. It'll be more useful for close quarters as well, in dungeons and castles and so on.

Hrrm. How much would it cost for a weapon that can catch spells and absorb their energy for you?

I'd say you have the right idea with a blade. However, what kind depends entirely on how you fight/what your physical strengths are.

Ambidextrous? Dagger + Shortsword or twin Shortswords and learn to how to fight with two weapons.

Single Handed? A traditional, well-made longsword should work, preferably with some manner of hand-guard.

Yeah a sword would probably suit you best. See what's available. Remember it has to be durable and deadly enough to let you take down ogres or guys like that Kedex fellow.

Here's an extra - see if you can get an enchanted sheath that if triggered explosively accelerates your draw to near arm-breaking levels. Most people won't expect it and it should multiply the power of your first strike, which is the most important one. We're talking you standing ready to draw and then BAM whoever is in front of you gets cut in half without even having a chance to react.

Big, heavy weapons are for big, heavy people. From what we've heard and seen, you might grow up to be a big, heavy girl, but for now you've still got most of your points in agility.

Swords are a pretty safe bet for just about anyone, though. Look for something sort of like you're holding there, but with a slightly longer grip, so you can use both hands for those really awesome two-handed chops that split some dude in half.

I say sword, not too big but something that can be used with one or two hands. For an enchantment how about making it a spell condiut - cast fire or lightning while holding it to give the sword their effects. Especially effective if you've got it lodged in someone at the time. You were relying on your magic a lot in the last mission and this could give you a new way to use what might be your biggest advantage.
Also consider getting a backup shortsword. Not suggesting you try dual-wielding, just that it's good to be prepared.

Get a bastard sword, you can use it with either 1 or 2 hands, its the perfect length for any warrior.
In any case, swords are the king of weapons, you can use them as a hammer, you can use them to defend yourself, and you can use them to stab.
You're combining the abilities of a warhammer, a spear and whatnot.
If you use a sword with 2 hands, one on the blade, you can still thrust it hard enough to punch through thin plate. If you plan to fight heavily armored men, get a warhammer as back-up.

An axe would give you a solid offense, but no defense.
Hammers are basicly the same.
Spears are the weapon of peasants.
poleaxes and whatnot take specialisation and are recomended to users wearing full plate, the flail falls under this catagory too.

There's a reason nobility banned peasantry from owning swords.

If you plan to duel someone and or face people with weapons of a superiour reach to a bastard sword, get a zweihander, it is recommended to be used with at least a propper breastplate and tassets.
They have a really long reach, hit as hard as a shorter axe, leave a lot less room for defense in the sense of parries, but are extellent against other long weapons. It'll go through plate if you thrust with it with 2 hands.
But remember they're about as long as you are, and they can get heavy. You can't put it away out of combat, and will have to carry it resting on your shoulder. If you sheath it, it'll be out of easy reach when youre ambushed.

Darts and caltrops are recommended, possibly some other shock weapons, but that might get too heavy.

What kind of armor are you packing?

The swordbreaker is pretty much the best possible parrying knife. Even though it was pretty impossible to actually break a sword with one, they're incredibly good at trapping blades, which is, of course, just as good if you can take advantage of an opening. The crux of using a swordbreaker is skill and speed - you have to have it held where your opponent can't break your grip or just push through and stab you (which is a thin line - hold it too far from you and your opponent can push it from your hand and keep it too close and the can still stab you) while using the opening created to kill your opponent before they can do either.

Of course, Rynh is a half-dragon so she may well be able to break swords. In which case, a swordbreaker would be an even better investment.

The bastard sword is the best choice, the blade you were conjuring up in your thoughts would function as a 2 handed falchion, which is an early medieval weapon.
When you get down so it, they basicly function as an axe, you lose the ability to propperly thrust or use your weapon as a hammer, and in return you get the ability to wreck chainmail or the bones under it.
You can already go through chainmail if you stab hard enough.

Get a one-handed warhammer you can attach to your belt, in the unlikely event you run into a tin can, you'll be happy you have one.

With the bastard sword you have the perfect balance between reach, flexibility, freedom to choose a shield, aswell as being able to sheath it and not making yourself a big fat target in the process.

It might not be the most interresting or creative of choices, but there's a reason everyone and their mom used it.

If you think your dragon strength would allow you to swing an axe at a great speed with a greater endurance than a human, you could concider getting a Danish Beardaxe, it is the biggest axe in existance, and you use it with your left hand as main hand. It'll ruin everyone's day.
It makes a shield basicly useless in combat, as you have to turn and block and that never works out well, but you have to relentlessly attack, and never give the enemy a chance to hit back. It'll either wear him down as the shock of such a huge axe being absorbed by (mainly) his arm will wear him out quickly. It just has little to no defensive moves.

A shapeshifting weapon is probably pretty expensive, but how about your standard portable pocket dimensions? Know any place you can buy storage devices of a magical nature? Bags are traditional, but jewelry might be better suited to shapeshifting. Dragons look good in necklaces and such.

This sword thing makes my head hurt. I'm just going to bother Jehral until I can think of something productive to do and until my sword is finished.

"Hey, Jehral. What's something productive to do with a lot of money?"

"I'm pretty sure it's traditional to spend it all on ale and whores and gambling until you're so broke you need to go out and risk your life for more money."
I ruffle his hair a bit, which he seems to appreciate.
"Yeah, but that gets boring and a delicate, young girl would never whore around."

"Uh huh... Well, there's always the old standby of wandering around ancient towers and old tombs looking for treasure while trying not to be killed by zombies."

"See? That has potential."

Damn, girl, how tall are you/him? I thought he was half 'elf' not half gnome!

Anyhow, yes, dungeon crawling is traditional, but if you are going to be collecting loot you need to 'acquire' a place of your own to store it in.

You know, some place to crash of your own, where you don't catch all the lice every other syphilitic old barbarian or some shit leaves in the Inn sheets.

Some place with potential for 'expansion' and 'upgrading' perhaps?

Why don't you hire him for certain... services...

Also, even if we were to obtain more cash, what would we do with it? Should we invest our cash, get a safe place to keep it so we can swim around in it, what?

Exploring forgotten places might get us some usefull, and hopefully enchanted gear, so that's an option. You could take your little boytoy with you if you like. Just make sure you don't get in over your head.

As for the sword business, don't worry about it, you made the right choice.

That actually sounds kindof fun. We'll go adventuring! Like, actual adventuring, not mercenary work. Go find some ruins, a tower or something, explore, look for artifacts, stuff like that.

It's probably not quite as stable as mercenary work, because there's no guarantee you'll find something valuable to pawn off, but there's always a chance you'll hit it big, or at least find something some nerdy archeologist would pay for, it's moderately less dangerous than mercenary work, and you won't be bored!

Due to the limits of the adventuring lifestyle, if we decide to drag people along with us, we should really only bring one other person.
Jehral's pretty small and speedy. He's a scout, right? He'd probably be good at spotting things or fitting through tiny passageways. Also, shenanigans!
Or we could ask that girly mage guy we know. What was his name. He's less fun, but he probably knows all kinds of useless trivia that would be helpful while exploring ancient ruins. Also he's an accomplished mage.
Or we could just go wandering alone. Then we don't have to worry about entertaining or providing for other people. Just the inevitable onslaught of crippling, debilitating loneliness. So lonely.

So lonely.

What if you cleared out a ruin or dungeon, pref one that's both in the middle of nowhere and in the middle of the everything (anyone got a map?) and pour gold into converting it into a secret base of operations or a lair or something. In case things go foul, or you just want some alone time to adjust to rolling in gold, or that plot should come back to bite you in the ass. Or just to have a place to call your own without annoying taxes or being in government territory.

Oh, and forgot about bonking Jehral. You can do better.

You need several things to make this monster-organ-harvesting plan work.
-Potential targets
-Known buyers
-Knowledge of what parts of the targets the buyers want
-Preferably a way of preserving them intact so that you don't deliver half-rotted goods
-A team that's willing to go in on this with you on more than a spot mission basis

Attack each of those problems. Finding buyers is likely the first to handle; it'll guide you in finding targets and provide a certainty that other potential teammates will appreciate. Preferably, find multiple potential buyers for any item you're planning on selling so that you can reasonably negotiate prices- if there's only one guy willing to pay you anything, you'll get underpaid for your effort and risk.

Okay, if we're going to do this, let's do it
right. So far the only sexual teasing Jehral has had any real response to has been the thought of oral. Not that he's going to get any.

Excuse yourself to the ladies room and see if you can shape shift your lips to something properly pouty. Just getting them to fill out a little and maybe a shade change shouldn't be too difficult.

When you get back, ask the bartender for fruity, watered down elven drinks in any decorative, clear glass he has, allowing Jehral a vantage point of your lips slowly sipping. (No chugging, young lady.)

Meanwhile Jehral will be getting wasted on harder ale, giving your the upper hand.

Beyond that, tease him any way you like. You've got the dragon tongue and you know how to make him squirm with it. Then when he's horny and sloshed...tell him goodnight.

Give Jehral epic blue balls, Rynh. This is your mission tonight.

Perhaps ask him if he ever wanted to track down his family, I mean, elves right, they tend to have nice things, magic even. Although he might want to make double sure, just in case he thinks it's elves and it turns out he half-human or half-orc, or heavens forbid half-gnome!

I mean, on one hand indeterminately long lifespan, on the other... maybe 50 years if you're lucky. Besides, he's helped you find your family, I mean, he has to want more than an awkward handjob in exchange.

Anyhow, conversation is a bit like combat, you give a little ground, then take a little ground, lower defenses a little, look for tells, then penetrate defenses to the heart of the matter. If you get lucky and find the right spot, you connect and the life starts flowing out.

Well now that you can shapeshift you might just be reshaping yourself gradually depending on your self image and desires. Having large, round tits would have just been in the way when you went golem hunting so maybe you subconsciously changed your shape a bit?

Anyway what does Jehral see himself doing with his life? Is he going to keep being a mercenary lapdog scout who only lives for his next sip of alcohol or what? He doesn't seem enthusiastic about striking out for greater profits.

Hell, if you're drunk enough, ask him how he feels about you. I don't necessarily want to keep trying to push the two of you together, but at least establish the boundaries if you're gonna keep teasing him. To be honest Jehral is just Rynh's pet. She feeds him, dresses him up and hugs him sometimes. His main selling point is being cute and fluffy, which is negated by the fact that he's whiny and critical.

He seems to view Rynh as some kind of meal ticket/friend as well. He clearly prefers more elven looking women.

Idea: Go party with Nako instead of some guy whose idea of a fun time seems to be harassing you for your lack of tits.

I'm not aggressive or depressed... Maybe a little aggressive. You don't get into this business without it. I don't brutalize people for looking at me the wrong way, so I'm not out of control or anything.

>you secretly love Jehral, but you can't admit it to yourself.
I don't know what I feel about Jehral. Is he the type I want? I don't really think about what I'd want in a guy, so I don't know.

>Go fuck Dagnyr, at least he's not tiny.
He's a little too creepy to think about like that, being a murderous psychotic and all.

A little less crazy. I don't know him all that well, but he's pretty good natured, until he gets pissed off and goes on a howling berserker rampage. I think it would have to be something big for that to happen though.

That's quite a trip all the way to Shavaan to see him and I don't even know him. It could be good, could be bad. Who knows?

>perhaps it would be better to associate with your more dominant half, your dragon half.
I'm more of an enormous, fire breathing kobold. It's just not really noticeable, since enormous to a kobold is just about normal size for almost everyone else.

See, that there is what the trip is supposed to fix. He's family, you should get to know him atleast a little bit. Find out how many other siblings you have running around, maybe learn a bit more about mom and your heritage. I mean it seems like you're the daughter of a dragon that beat up gods, or atleast socialised with them. Who knows what crazy shit might come looking for you down the road, better to be prepared for stuff like that than let it hit you like a surprise fish slap in the face.

Also, no need to find out who you would want as a partner yet. You're only like 30 (I think that was what you said) and not even mature yet. And you're going to be living for centuries. You have time on your side, and making some sort of lifelong commitment right away seems pretty daft.

Who doesn't like baking? Baking yields tasty things.

Though, it's more hobby material for Rynh, I'd say. Perhaps with brewing on the side. Both deal with yeast, I understand. Brewing is more long term stuff, while baking is the short term.

...or perhaps trimming those fancy little tiny trees? I hear that's supposed to be relaxing.

Main problem right now seems to be that ya don't have any big GOALS set for yourself, Rynh. Anything that you want to do, still? Anywhere you want to visit? Any passions you've let fall by the wayside? Let's just push the Jehral question into the back corner of the table for now. Deal with it later. Some things need to sit for a while.

She has problems being direct and up front with her feelings, which is fine, that shit happens to everyone, but he's not a bad floppy-eared-thing just because he doesn't interpret said mixed messages as an admission of feelings. If anything he's good natured for being able to take all of this in stride while still maintaining a friendship Rynh.

Okay, fuck moping, even though I am not moping. I'm going to find some more chaos and conflict, instead of worrying about boys and pretty dresses.

There's bounties, bodyguarding, armed escorting, goods "recovery", things like that. I guess I could just wander off and do the adventuring thing a bit. I'd probably want to try to convince a few others to come along too, if I did that. Lone adventurers are generally dead adventurers.

Dont give us the 'painful' excuse. You're a mercenary. We've seen you fight and tolerate all sorts of physical abuse, and we're pretty sure you got roughed up learning to get as far as you have already. falling from a height in a super-mighty dragon form can't be that much worse.

Not to shoot you down here, but let's be alittle more considerate. There is more than one form of 'pain', and each brand requires some getting used too, with the exceptions of personal weaknesses to certain forms. We have seen her handle physical pain, yes, but does this discipline hold true in more peculiar conditions? The pain she may be describing may be mental, or worse, metaphysical in origin.

Rynh, could you elaborate on what you experience? It's alright if you can't properly describe it: the more vague it is, the better a grip we can get on it in terms of theory. Should it be something specific, then I fear you have some sort of genetic defect or natural disease getting in the way, and we know of no magic that can reliably cure such things. Being a hybrid is rarely ever fun and games, even in the same species.

Okay, dude, seriously. Thodren is a melee fighting merc.

Rynh will not beat him wrestling. No matter how much martial arts Rynh might know, Thodren probably knows just as much AND has a significant physical advantage. This fight is basically over, and the only reason that Rynh isn't getting tossed across the room by her ankle is that Thodren doesn't want her to be.

There comes a time when you need to cut your losses. Fight over, get some breakfast already.

Jesus Christ, I don't know what's more overwhelming -- the incredible, all-encompassing sexual tension, or how ridiculously oblivious you (and most of the suggesters) are intentionally being.

So let me spell it out for you: You are intentionally letting this guy get the best of you in order to allow for an intimate physical closeness that nearly approximates sexual contact but that still leaves you plausible deniability. You are, consciously or not, trying to get in a fucking position with this guy, and now that it's worked, all your planned moves are somehow revolving around his dick.
For his part he is obviously conscious of it too.

If you want to fuck him just say so already, goddamn. Stop being such a baby.

He's putting most of his weight on his left leg. If you get him in the back of that knee, with your right leg or your tail, and push his right side with your other leg, you should be able to pull with your right arm and push up with your left to make him fall to the side, allowing you to escape... if you're nimble enough. If you move especially quickly, you may even be able to get on top and hold him!

Yeah. I'm not going to win at this point without doing something seriously damaging and that might just piss him off, things would get bad quickly.

Time for breakfast, then I can see about this job. Exploring ruins, maybe fight some monsters. It should be more adventurey than what I've been doing.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Depending on what being an "archaeologist" is here (searching for knowledge?... or searching for loot?), it might be worth it to bring someone a bit more scholarly, as well. They're less likely to get bored and stumble into something nasty. If you think you can handle travelling with that many nerds at once, at least.

Branch out a bit. It's good to have pals, but there are hundreds of mercs around; no need to always default to the ones you know best.

Repostan from chapter five.

There's Thodren for a meatwall. He's pretty huge.
Shera is a catfolk, she's big on running around and throwing things. Kind of like Jehral with bigger tits...
Stark, he's an archer. He shoots arrows from a bow. I don't know what else to say here.
Kryssa, shoots bolts from a crossbow. Yeah...
Gustav is a mage. He's better at magic than me, but I could break him with my bare hands. It all balances out.
Jehral, tiny target with throwing daggers. He flips out and stabs things.
Dagnyr. He's a gnoll, so he likes stabbing and biting things.

Jehral might not even want to come. Who knows what's going through his head these days. If he wants to, cool. Leave the touchy feely confusion behind, though. You've definitely shown YOUR interest enough. It's up to him to decide if he wants to reciprocate, and some guys are slow at that. So just leave that stuff behind. (If he's not up for it, go Shera, but don't tell her she was the backup)

I'd recommend Gustav, if only so you can talk nerdy about magic and get on the other party members' nerves. Plus, perhaps learn a thing or two that you could adapt to your magic style. Adaptability seems to be one of those things we're going for, right?

Is this a four-man band we're going for? Or getting another? Dagnyr could be the fifth wheel, for the lulz, if possible. Or Nako, if she's up for it. She's a gobbo. Gobbos know underground, right? Plus, she has fun explosion stuff.
