Not knowing what to say, I silently place my hand on top of hers.

Definitely not the shirt and pants, I really don't like them. As for the dress, it looks nice. The only problem with it is that a dress would be extremely inconvienent in any kind of situation that involves dexterity, combat, or any other kind of varied movement. As for going nude, a large majority will likely agree that it looks good, and you wouldn't exactly be exposing much. From a more tactical view, this option will give you the most freedom of movement for any kind of situations that will inevitably come up, and it isn't easy to get caught on anything. Clothing might also cover up your tails, which would severely limit their use. The only problem I see with this is that it leaves you slightly more vulnerable to contact damage, as you don't have a layer of cloth over you. Fortunately, you are extremely strong, so this shouldn't be too much of a concern. The available clothes probably wouldn't prevent this much anyway. Even without taking fanservice into account, nude seems to be the most viable option.

Eventually, the boost wears off and we adjust the top. I examine our work as Roz finishes recovering. He pops out and sighs heavily.

I let out a heavy sigh. Is that it, then? I guess I can't revive anyone after all. Still, would it be right to just leave them like this?

On the way back, I grab a few bars of Tozite.

Titzi and Betzy are also full breed sharks, earth and space respectively. If the party max is that strict that you can't use them to fix puzzles then use the darn robot. I have a bet that Mantis will say it's not allowed to or something so there's the alternate choices. I don't think Betsy can work a console either, but Titzi's robot arm should do fine.

Best case: Mantis is able/willing to walk through and deactivate the hallway.
Second-best case: The PVD does not trigger the hallway and Mantis is able/willing to carry it through.
Third-best case: The PVD does not trigger the hallway and Mantis cannot carry it - throw it through and have the others deactivate the hallway.
Not-best case: The PVD does trigger the hallway, throw it through very fast with those strength and speed upgrades and have the others deactivate the hallway.

Why don't you just eat the wiring that powers the hallway?

Easy. Roz-boost strength, retrieve Titzi, fastball special. You just have to throw FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF LIGHTNING BOLTS.

I dunno guys, maybe we should take into account the skills of the team members inside the PVD.

For example, ANTI GRAVITY.

Give a shout to our falling team members before doing anything, if only to at least slow down or maybe stop the fall.

Swan dive in to deep abyss, chances are there might be water down there and that it might adhere to the trope soft water. For confirmation boost your senses for a small bit then do a quick transfer to another stat that might be useful for climbing down in case water isn't down there, like strength for better grip.

The PVD looks worse for wear; one of the hinges has broken off. I close and reopen it, but there's no sign of the usual portal inside.

My mind races with possibilities. Maybe they got out and Titzi just couldn't hear me earlier. Maybe they're safely stored in some kind of "standby" mode. Maybe I can fix it. Maybe Mantis can fix it. Maybe I can threaten the scientist until he fixes it.

Roz's voice snaps me out of it.

"Maybe we can fix it."

I stare into the empty box a moment longer. "Either way, we have to do something."

I'd say to try Mantis first.

She looks like she took a hit of some sort but according to her conveniently-placed health bar she seems to be pretty much okay right now.

Look around for every speck of loose scrap in the area that could possibly be related to the PVD, then have Roz fly everybody up before the boost wears out.
Then have Roz divert all his smarts into your new SCIENCE! stat, and use that to fix the PVD!

Yell up at Ashela that you're fine.

Also, yeah, collect all the metal bits lying around (DON'T EAT THEM) and see if you can get out of this ditch.

Or, don't get out of the ditch, if there's something interesting nearby.

check with Mantis. Mantis should have a repair file or something. If not, then some sort of module to give Mantis the repair instructions for it can probably be found somewhere

Search the area around the PVD. Look for signs of recent activity. Stones that look to be recently upturned, footprints in the dust if there is any. There was plenty of stuff stored in the PVD as well, maybe one or objects popped out after the landing. Assuming your friends got out and picked everything up, they might've forgot something.

Call out for your friends. Perhaps they couldn't hear you at the top, but maybe they can down here? Use your senses, too. Even if you can't tell which way they went, you might at least be able to determine if they are alive.

Ask Mantis if it is aware of the PVD. If it is, ask what happens to the contents when it is unexpectedly destroyed.
