I am the pixel reaper, feared and respected by all.
I represent the zenith of pixel achievement, the epitome of strength, Death personified!

I AM KING!!!

I never could have imagined that others had reached that resolution...but there he was

The Dragon

I have never seen an image so powerful, so cunning, so regal.

I did not stand a chance. I was erased in mere moments. Death was surely the price of my hubris... a poetic justice indeed, cosidering my chosen depiction.

BUT I WAS WRONG AGAIN!!!!
A penchant I was thankful for under the circumstances.

His attack made my image resemblant of ashes floating on the breeze, and for any other pixel, this would have been enough to end.

BUT NOT I!!!
I HAVE SURVIVED!!!!!
Though not quite the spitting image of my former self.

This day, I promise that I will return to that resolution and crush the one who dared stand against me!
I WILL HAVE REVENGE!!!!!

...But for now, where the heck am I?

>Size +2
>??? created

Oho? What's this?. Seems like the young one had more bite behind his bark after all, just no balls. Ha. ha, ha. Oh I crack myself up.

But this was indeed unexpected, an undefined pixel, I could turn this into a number of colours.

From memory, the ones that are useful at this stage are:

Red: This pixel is worth two in a melee. Strong deadly.

Blue: This pixel is good for creation. it will fix damaged, yet intact pixels and create new ones if your image is in good condition. Good for size and image development.

White Boxes: Different from plain empty space, these boxes stop and absorb attacks and pixels. Good for defense and assimilation bonuses.

Black: Plain size pixels, sometimes underestimated for their usefulness.

Should I choose a colour now, or save it?
Or do something else.

Ah yes, I feel better already. It has been a while since I had a blue in my grasp. Hmmmm, I should probably protect this bastard, it is my valuable lifeline after all.

Black pixels to the fore! You need armor! And get a white pixel to beef up your defense. Hopefully that'll give you enough defense and repair to make it through the incoming attack.

You should keep retreating even with your defenses up, though. No sense risking a dangerous battle if you can avoid it.

Ah, my Dark Grey bits?
That there is my control center Boyo. It make is easier for me to control my image and use special attacks.

Without it, I would lose pixels if I go too fast and when I get hit I would lose huge chunks instead of a direct measure. Very valuable to me indeed.

I'm too small for special attacks though.

Should probably migrate that into your center next to the blue one, then, and use the spare black to close the rear gap.

And move away from the attacking creature, and possibly toward something small and snackable. So that you can get a bit stronger while running if the other critter chases you.

We don't need mass as much as we need quality, I'd say. Concentrating more capability in a smaller area would let us take down creatures far larger than ourselves, by clever tactical use of our abilities rather than mere inertia. It might also leave us able to move more quickly- not sure how movement speed works here.

What would Light Grey bits do?

And leveling Grey/black, what would that do? I assume leveling Blue makes it heal better, Red makes it hit better, White better defence, etc.

It probably would help if we severed the tail... Not that I particularly want to save Galaga, but y'know. If we could time it so that we engage just after he does, that'd be good and probably keep us safer.

I charge at him, taking advantage of my new-found speed, aiming for his nether regions.

Che. Even with my new speed, he still has more control than I do, he quickly reorganizes himself so that I take longer to get to him.

At least I bought Galaga a little time... though only a little.

This whole endeavor is bloody suicidal, but I suppose that's what one gets when going up against something that big. Shift a few black pixels up into a more assault-oriented configuration as you move, so that you're likely to fare better in standard combat. Also so that your blues have more to work with.

wont work, he has so many fucking blues that he will regen damage at a fucking massive rate. severing the tail only works because we can put some pixels between so it can't grow back.

anyway, once you get a little close, shoot out your red on a huge line of blacks.

I briefly consider attacking his control centers, slowing him down so as to be easier prey...

No, he would simply regenerate them faster than I could damage, well maybe I could take one or two out, but it would definitely cost something.

Instead I reach out to his tail, using my black pixels to extend my reach...

hmmm... while the strength is good, the reach is a distinct disadvantage on these lower levels.

His attention is split between us, giving Galaga some time to... what is he doing anyway?

Come on boys, don't be scared. Im just gonna bite ya.

That's... really making our rear vulnerable. Shark has a lot of control pixels; he could whip his tail around and hit us in the rear if we're not careful. I'm thinking that we should just continue our cautious but aggressively-stanced approach.

It looks to me like Galaga is rearranging to put his red pixels forward. Not sure what's going on with the rest of his shape, though.

Indeed they do give a bonus to assimilation. If assimilating someone can be accomplished with a touch, and our higher-resolution black pixels are easier to absorb than an equivalent number of lower-resolution pixels, we're basically boned. If it takes more contact or a lot of time, we should be able to launch a rapid assault and tear him up long before he can absorb us. With only black and white pixels he should be slow to reconfigure and follow, so we can keep him at range, striking repeatedly and healing much faster than he can.

I had forgotten about the assimilation boost to white pixels.

I back away, remixing my image to prepare for a ranged strike, even as I take a moment to absorb a stray pixel, my improved speed showing it's worth immediately.

He has a total of 25 pixels, 12 of which are white pixels, assuming a +1 bonus for each white, he's got a total difficulty of 37.
We currently have a total of 36 pixels, currently I would not recommend challenging him. If we punch him in the black pixels before we try to assimilate him we will have a much greater chance of success.
I recommend we hit him once, then retreat and grab that one spawned pixel behind us before we go for the assimilation role.

I kinda like this guy, even if only because he's the underdog here. He took a risk to strike back, took advantage of our distraction, seems pretty clever.

However, at the same time, this is pretty risky. Not sure we can take this guy and win. Tempted to say we should suggest simply running away to the little tyke (Assuming he can flee across borders), albiet with us accompanying him. If we don't do that, I say we take advantage of the fact we have a ton of blacks, and spread them out to counter his assimilate attempt a little, do hit and run attacks, take advantage of our superior speed and control.

...Also, what the hell is coming onto the board from the 'north'?
