WITH THE STATE INSPECTION AT THE HANDS OF LORD BRIGADIER GENERAL QUINTON DELEVAS SUCCESSFULLY NAVIGATED, MORDRE BUSIES HIMSELF WITH ATTENDING TO KYOGROCK ARCANOWORKS, AND LEARNING MORE OF HOW THE PLACE HAS CHANGED IN HIS ABSENCE. WHILE MORDRE PLOTS, KEDDIC WALKS, THE 4TH HEIR OF THE HARKSBURTON LINE LEADING A CARAVAN BACK TO MORDRE'S BASE OF OPERATIONS.

>GOLEM QUEST TEMPORARILY BECOMES KEDDIC QUEST, UNTIL SUCH TIME SHIPMENT REACHES THE ARCANOWORKS OR KEDDIC DIES

I hired some five wagons, each with a pair of horses to pull them, along with drivers for each. Miss Jezebel has been fiddling with some components in the wagon second from the back, and has thankfully kept her viperish tongue in check. Honestly, I sometimes find myself wondering why Mordre chose to hire her... and then I see a particularly brutal murder machine of her crafting, and recant my doubts. Lord Donwick Dregas, still contentedly sitting in the upturned hand of the clay golem Geodiaz, brings up the rear of our caravan, as I take point, leading us across the landscape. Despite our slow going, we make consistent progress... which is something of a problem right now. Our path originally brought us through the Cursed lands of the fallen Mosmordren Empire.... and our hired drivers seem more than slightly reluctant to press on.

"Look, we had no issue passing through on out way here, why would there be trouble now?"
>"This land is not only cursed in a definable manner, but was also the home of the Mosmordren Empire. No way am I going in there."
"But the curse was placed more than a decade ago, by now it's potency has faded greatly."
>"Doesn't matter, what you paid us isn't nearly enough for stuff like that."

I sigh at this comment, as the caravan already cost 120 marks to set up, leaving me with 353 marks of the 473 Mordre handed to me. I must admit, I was a bit surprised at how hard the bargaining was back in town... and now I find myself disappointed in the quality of the work I hired, and I begin to wonder if this reticence is genuine, or simply part of an attempt to squeeze more money out of us.

Oh, right. I forgot to suggest this. If we decide to make the Pangolin Golem for Arkus, inscribe the Spatial Distortion runes on the Cockpit-orb-thing. This will ensure he is save from all but the most powerful strikes. Some Rubies that work in a way similarly to Dulus should be put on the Golem and on the cockpit. maybe we can create a new amaranthine Annihilator for Arkus' as well, it would be nowhere near the power of our upgraded one, but it would give him ranged attacks. He could also use the rubies as amplifiers for spells.
In any case, Arkus needs to learn an insta-transportation spell to use if the Golem gets raped, or some manner of rune to do the same thing.

[Probably the same people who want his master in the Land of Dragons, the Lined One, dead, what with him being The Lined One’s student for a time.]

>>194579
[Last I had seen, the plan was to make the Pangolin largely a raged combat specialist, with dozens of hand-cannons built into it’s shell for omnidirectional fire (pop up from under armor plates/scales, fire, then recede back under protection of armor), with two Soul Grave-scale mortar pieces built into each hand, and some Morphic Steel spike and claw setup both for clawed attack in open form, and rolling up into a spiked ball for smashing and impaling stuff. But yeah, Something like the Amaranthine Annihilator could be made, but in absense of Pristine Souls (which work only on Mordre) it will be rather considerably weaker. That, and the Eyes of Winter, the two rubies that are Mordre’s eyes, are exceeded in quality only by the single massive gem topping Arkus’ pilfered yeti shaman staff. …Though you could use that to set up a decent single-beam variant of the Amaranthine Annihilator.]

”As to what I could use in the here and now, Steel is my highest priority, but tin, tantalum, niobium: These I need in smaller amounts than steel or iron, To facilitate research endeavors, as well as nickel, Magnesium and copper: I find myself in need of a great many metals. And so, to facilitate their accrual, I shall tell you all I can of your foe.”

”Indeed, I could supply much of what you seek, I have fairly comprehensive metal trading networks, And it would be a small price to pay for useful information. So, what DO you know of this foe of mine?”

”The story of the talking Small Tomb requires some backstory, So I implore you to bear with me as I set the stage: Small Tombs are much more common than Soul Graves, Largely due to their method of creation: They need but one soul, One of heroic qualities bound within the metal to power the golem, Unlike Soul Graves, which require mass amounts of souls. In most cases, the soul used to power Small Tombs is just that: A power source, and nothing more: But this is not always the case. The Small Tomb that plagues you is powered by the soul of one I know, An individual once known as Dulu the Golemslayer, a dangerous individual. Beyond a plethora o experience facing down golems, he was preternaturally aware, Making him a vexing foe to try to strike down, evading most attacks: This trait has only grown with his transformation into a Small Tomb. I first encountered Dulu in service to some bandits, and still in the flesh he damaged this, The Soul Grave I utilize in a one on one contest with nothing more than a morphic weapon. The contest was close enough at the time that he was able to safely retreat. The second time I encountered him, I was able to slay him with considerable effort, But his soul was able to escape despite his death: ‘Twas after this he became a Small Tomb. When next he was encountered, he demonstrated the power of his new form, Threatening an extensively guarded caravan with a multitude of potent warriors, Before finally being forced to quit the field when those with him were slain. His new form, forged of Morphic Steel, is dangerously durable and flexible alike: I know him to possess a morphic staff that he favors, as well as eight cleavers. While he normally has but two arms, an insidious enchantment can change that: Sapphires embedded in his form guide a form of contact magic absorption, With the energy he takes powering the creation of further arms on his form. Thus far, he has been seen to have up to eight arms that he can use quite readily, Though I do not know if that is his limit, or simply the extent of what he revealed. Due to his focus on melee combat, it is recommended to either avoid magic use, Or to use so much that you might overload his enchantments, preferably at a distance. As to whom the Small Tomb Dulu serves, I have little hard evidence, But considering his soul to be housed in a newly made Small Tomb, With his mind intact, no less, coupled with testimonials from captured accomplices, I suspect him to serve a mage talented in both Golemcraft and Soul Magic. While I cannot yet prove it, I suspect this mage to be Archmage Weinsho, Though I admit there is a possibility someone is using his name falsely. If I had more substantial evidence, I would bring my claims before the State, As well as my contact in the Mortal Coil, but Dulu’s master has been fairly careful, So for now I have only my suspicions.”

The whole time I spoke, Carkiano patiently waited, attending to my words with a singular focus as he periodically nodded the head of his golem armor. As I conclude my comprehensive report on Dulu the Golemslayer, Golemslain and Golemformed, the Blue Knight takes a few moments before he finally responds.

”…Well, that IS some rather critical information you have given me, And I shall be sure to take it under advisement for future dealings with this foe. Steel you shall have aplenty, and supplies of tin, nickel, copper, and magnesium, All can be supplied regularly for what you offered me: However… Tantalum and Niobium are rare enough that I can only offer a one-time supply of, Lest I drain my own resources, for someone I just met. …Hm. Your Soul Grave seems well-forged, and your allies here look competent: Mayhap you could be of further use: I am trying to track the strange red life golem, The one that sprouts blades from it’s form, if the reports are to be believed: Care to join me in hunting it down? Ah, and I’ll need to know where you are based, So that I can have caravans sent to give you the metal I promised.”

”I occupy a research outpost to the north, Kyogrock Arcanoworks. Most of the towns and villages north of here could point you to it, I’ve had dealings with the majority of them. As to the life golem hunt…”

Well, most of the important ones have their own distinct fighting style that would only be hampered by such an armour. But it is not a bad idea at all. Just kind of strange to pour the resources into such a fighty armor for such a "Stay in the capital and research" kind of mage.

It might be Aurockoth, if the title of The Living Sword is to be taken rather literally. I don't recall Keddic telling us he was red, but I don't remember anything saying he wasn't. If it is Aurockoth, shit we in trouble, son, it killed three soul graves, two on its own, and I don't think we're that awesome yet.

Ah, Jezebel, now that's a good idea, being a ranged combatant and all, the armor we're thinking of would greatly compliment her fighting style. She would likely want to stick some of her tech in it, bigger and badder, and autoloading.

[Great thing about Golem Armor is that it doesn’t need to be restricted to a specific pilot or operator as a normal golem does: It just needs a pilot, not a specific pilot, unless you design it that way. So, the same Golem Armor could be used by Arkus, Jezebel, Derkin, Ulzrick, Ellorika, Vespinto, Jojo, Bang, Keddic/the Premen (if the cockpit is big enough), whoever.]

”I cannot help but note the description you give is familiar, Bearing a strong resemblance to a life golem one of my comrades hunts: If it is the same beast, he would not only be more than willing to assist, But his knowledge of the creature would likely prove most useful.”

”Oh? And who is this comrade of yours?”

”Have you ever heard of Keddic Harksburton?

”A Harksburton? I certainly know of the family, Talented warriors from Castiliathe, one and all.. If this one’s name is Keddic… which one is he? The third?”

”The fourth, actually.”

”Ah-ha, I had wondered why I had heard so little about the current heir: I’d feared he had either retired or chosen to seek wars in far-off lands.. It is good to hear the Harksburton line is well, I fought alongside his father before, And while I have not met him, I have heard nothing but praise of the fourth Keddic…”

Carkiano the Blue Knight stops speaking, as he taps the hilt of his massive sword, and ruminates aloud.

”If a Harksburton would be interested in the death of a life golem, Enough that you’d recommend his presence, coupled with the being’s use of blades.. …You suspect this life golem to be The God of Blades, Aurockoth?”

At this comment, I see the soldiers about the Blue Knight visibly become stricken with fear, flinching from the very name, Dame Valiria’s face going pale with worry… and Bang sporting a growing manic grin, a wild anticipation in his eyes. …It would seem the name Aurockoth is rather well known.

”The description sounds fairly similar to the one Keddic has given, So I consider it a possibility, that the life golem you seek and Aurockoth are the same. I do not assume this to be completely accurate, but in case it is that creature, It would be best to wait for Keddi-“

”If it is Aurockoth, I want nothing to do with it, And I’ll count myself lucky if it passes through my lands: This is not a fight I could hope to win, facing the Living Sword, No matter how many resources I brought to bear. …I thank you for your words of caution, for if this assailant truly… Truly is the Reaper Made Flesh, then you have saved my life, And that of those with me now… I suppose it was only a matter of time, that monster always seeks war, And the Azelhaedran State has been growing more turbulent as the days pass: ‘Tis only natural it finally comes here…”

The warriors about the Blue Knight look relieved, as if a death sentence was repealed at the last moment. …If Aurockoth is such a monster, what makes Keddic think he could slay it? I yearn to learn more about this Aurockoth, since it seems the Blue Knight is familiar with it, as well as the Harksburton family: His insight could prove valuable.

”There is no guarantee this is Aurockoth, We only have the one report to go on-“

”Part of me already suspected, already feared it to be the case: Your words have simply cemented them: I know of no other life golems, That could ravage my followers and the surrounding landscape so: Bodies, armor, swords, mounts, trees.. even the earth itself, Rent apart as if by impossibly large and sharp swords and spears, More than a hundred men dead before they could even shift from marching formation: Either it was Aurockoth, or someone has crafted another nightmarish life golem. …I had been trying to convince myself I was over-thinking it, But with your own appraisal I find my doubts cleared: This must be Aurockoth. …I suppose I shall have to order patrols to the west curtailed, Lest I lose more to his wandering battlelust-induced rampages. …Hmm, maybe if I have my holdings disarm, put up a more peaceful appearance, He would pass them by as to insignificant to attract his notice…”

As the Blue Knight continues to ruminate, Bang sidles up beside me, and covertly confides in me.

“Hey, if you want to hunt down Aurockoth, I’m game: Next best thing to fighting a Core Being, fighting a living legend like that.”

Hm…

What should I say or do?
Do I have anything more I wish to say or ask of the Blue Knight?
And how do I respond to Bang’s comment?
Or should I do something else?

"I don't blame you for being wary of Aurockoth, he is a fearsome beast. And I won't ask you to expend your forces to fight against a monster like him. Instead, I propose a different approach that might solve a good portion of our problems: Consolidate your forces and occupy territory near the Arcanoworks. Naturally you'll have the State to deal with, but I can vouch for you if you are willing to hear me out. I wouldn't say that I am understaffed, rather I am outnumbered by enemies in this region. The three most pending threats to my operation, and by proxy yours and the state's- Dulu's master, Aurockoth, and a core being trapped under the earth near Trekel. At the behest of the state, I have abstained from attempting to destroy the core being. Not that I don't trust them to do their job... I just don't trust the fact that they might be interrupted while performing the task. I cannot assault Dulu's master until I have conclusive evidence of just WHO he is, and Aurockoth is likewise unchallenged because it would be a foolish pursuit to fight an opponent with such destructive force at this junction. What I'm asking of you, Carkiano, is to help me defend our respective outposts and villages. From what I have witnessed and learned so far, neither of us can expand in the Azelhaedran State without suffering terrible losses from foes beyond our reach. If we work together, we can find a way to fend off Dulu and his master's cronies, and possibly deter Aurockoth from attacking our forces further. What are your thoughts on this? Have I overstepped my boundaries for a first meeting? I ask so much of you because I wish to lessen the amount of battles we will have to fight in order to bring some semblence of peace to the Azelhaedran State."

Perhaps we could put together an elite golem-hunting group after all. Between Mordre and the super-motivated Keddic Harksburton and Magnum Bang who knows what's possible.

The blood togas are likely to be very handy against an enemy that seems to mostly use super powered physical attacks.

No no screw it, if so many people LOATHE confronting him them we best leave him be, unless we have 1 months worth of AA stored up and 100 souls to burn on IG's then no.

I always new Bang was a madman.
"All, in due time"

I was also thinking of defense for the armor, also I just had an awesome image of Arkus pulling out a little pangolin doll and morphing it into an awesome looking mech, I wish I had good art skills.

Prepare to discuss trade stuff and see if the Blue Knight is willing to help you out with some.. testing. See if he would be willing to put his hounds up against your men. I feel it will end badly, but it would be a good break from RAWR!!! WE RUN IN AND WIN EVERYTHING!!!! for them. Let them know loss is still an option, until they surpass themselves and become INVINCIBLE!!! I know that they might just get enough of that from Keddic but yea, more experience, and you can test their growth while seeing the hounds in action.

Yeah, this is kinda overstepping our bounds. I see no evidence of him wanting to pull up shop, just 'DON'T GO INTO THE WOODSWEST!' because of the Living Reaper.

I suggest we press the Blue Knight for some actual trade. We have rubies, bronze, and guns. What can we get for it? I wanna make a Settlers joke, but I won't.

Suggest to Bang and The Blue Knight that, with our forces, focus, and a plan, we could do significant damage to the Mortal Blade. We know that Bang and Keddic would both jump at the chance, but admit that it would not be without cost. Tell Blue and Bang that we will contact Keddic and - as he has the most experience with this living demon - we will ask if he feels ready for such a confrontation. If not, then we won't press the issue. If he does, would Sir Carkiano be willing to assist. To fight beside another Harksburton again would be a great honor, would it not? And even if we should need to flee, at least striking a blow without dying would be a fine honor.

I can't think of anything else to ask. Somehow get him a permanent ally, but I can't for the life of me figure out how.

Hmm… I know Bang here would rather obviously be amenable, and Keddic has clear reasons to be involved… While facing Aurockoth now may be a foolish choice, that does not mean I cannot start preparing to face him: I find Keddic to be a valuable asset, and helping him slay AUrockoth would likely cement his will to serve me, not to mention the likely ludicrously potent soul that could be gained from such a struggle. Hm, so, myself, Bang, and Keddic, as the founding core of an anti-golem (more specifically, anti-Aurockoth) group seems a fine starting point, but I shall need to accrue more resources and capable (and willing) warriors to participate in such a fight. A thing to consider.

>>194716
”All in due time, Bang.”

After doing what I can to verbally placate Bang’s unending lust for battles against foes of as much lethality as possible, I turn back to Carkiano, a new thought entering my mind.

”Carkiano, I have a request to make: Could a joint training session be staged, Between your hounds, and my own men? I find my more conventional soldiers in need of… Seasoning, and more varied contests will give them that.”

”-Hm? Oh, yes, certainly. I assume at the Arcanoworks, then? I shall send what Hounds I can spare along with the first caravan, Though I could only loan them to you for two days at the most: I have a limited number of Hounds, after all.”

>>194717
”I thank you for your generosity. I also find it necessary to note something: I have resources of my own to offer in trade, Bronze, rubies, and hand-cannons, and I wonder: What amongst that would you wish to trade for?”

”Bronze is useless to me, but rubies… Well, I certainly need not tell you the value of gems, eh? ..But what is this ‘hand-cannon’ you speak of?”

”I suppose you could consider it a man-portable artillery piece, With the ability to convert most metals into more ammunition, As an inbuilt magical function. They are quite devastating.”

”…Portable artillery, you say? I find myself intrigued. I’d need to see such a thing in action first, But if it performs admirably enough, I could offer much for such weapons, As well as for rubies…. I could even offer to have Golem Armor cast, For your followers: I imagine such would do? Please note I would not be able to replicate my own armor, It’s materials and crafting far too consuming for mass production… But nevertheless, potent armors could be made, To armor your forces: Just be aware the crafting is slow, So individual batches would be small, dozens at the most. And before I could even begin such an undertaking, I’d need to see that both your rubies and.. hand-cannons are worth it.”

”A fair stipulation: Mayhap some samples could make their way back, When your first caravan to the Arcanoworks returns to you.”

[Possible trade of Rubies/Hand-Cannons for Mass-Production Golem Armor discovered]
[To clarify, these golem armors would be the size of power armor, not full-sized Golem Armors like what Carkiano currently is employing. Still highly durable, and enhances strength.]

I deliberate on the matter, of whether I should tell Keddic, but ultimately decide that deceiving him would likely backfire: Besides, unlike Bang he seems to demonstrate at least some modicum of restraint, so I doubt he would simply go haring off to face down Aurockoth unless he thought he at least had a chance at victory. …That, and I have a sneaking suspicion that Aurockoth may in fact be here for Keddic himself. I resolve to mention this matter to all my followers when next we are alone, so that Jojo can discern this knowledge and bestow it on Keddic. Speaking of that….

”Hmm… well, the day grows old, and night approaches: The rains will get even colder, and I doubt either of our groups Would appreciate being trapped in the wet chill for too long. I must say, this has been a very interesting meeting: Thank you, Vali, for bringing Mordre to me: I feel this to be the start of a very beneficial relationship, For the both of us. So, unless you wish to avail yourself of my hospitality, And travel farther south to one of my holdings to rest, I fear this will be where we part ways for now: I have much to attend to, in no small part thanks to what I have learned here. So, unless there was anything else…”

As Carkiano trails off, I see him glance at his daughter, who pointedly moves closer to our group: It would seem she feel inclined to travel with us for now, if we choose to part ways with her father. I find her reticence to return to his holdings intriguing, but not nearly so intriguing as what I have learned of my southern neighbor, or the goods I have secured shipments of/the potential to trade rubies and hand-cannons for Golem Armor.

What should I say or do? Should I travel with the Blue Knight further south, or should I return to my own holdings?
[Last chance for questions/conversation with the Blue Knight unless you travel with him]

I believe we have a surplus of food. Perhaps we could talk about trading that.

Also, side note, but we should either get more mage skins to get kyorto or find some more mages to work for us...arkus by himself is too little for all the various projects we've given him....It will be tough considering we'd need the mage to be extremely trustworthy b/c they may find out about our secret...

Also...new thread time soon?

>hunting down a powerful Golem
>it is rogue and not allied with anyone
I can't believe I'm saying this. God fucking damnit.

Our greatest ally in this endeavor would be Dulu.

Dozen golem armors.. cool

Who should we assign them to? Maybe we can ask for special armor designed for mages?
So Arkus, Jez, Jojo, maybe our 3 humans who are at special training program (forgot their names), Lord Dregas (golem armor wearing golem operator) ... hmm, who else do we have who could benefit from this?

What can we find on the borders of the Blue Knight's territory? Any chance we can pick up the skin of an unwanted mage or a good battle with plenty of spoils? If we can expand our holdings somehow then that would be good.

As much as I'd like to travel south and converse with the Blue Knight, Dame Valiria does not seem to wish it, and Carkiano likely has much to take care of. We likewise, must return to evaluate our projects and drill every last crumb of info about Aurockoth and his abilities out of our knowledgable companions, and make sure Harksburton doesn't go haring of when he hears of this turn of events.

Also, offer lodging and supplies to Dame Valiria for as long as she feels she needs to be in the north. It's the least you can offer for helping to facilitate these arrangements. Promise that we'll not pry into her business, but to feel free to ask anything.

Also, consider the Rune Sword we took from Daobo the Bloody. Consider inscribing the runes onto the Edge of Oblivion once we've discerned their purpose, and gifting the blade to Keddic.

And check on that goddamn Core Beings progress from maximum possible range.

SHIT. Nearly forgot.

"Given the generous hospitality you've shown me, I feel it only right that I warn you...

Aurockoth is not the only major danger besetting this area. I'm not sure if the State wants me spreading this information, so please try to keep it under your hat to a degree, and if anyone asks, you did not hear it from me...

Near the Village of Trekel, a Core Being is growing. I discovered it and began efforts to hamper it's growth, but it is still making progress. The State has appropriated the site and refuses my aid, so keeping myself appraised of it's status is difficult, and I still work to think of a way to remove its threat.

As your lands are in the potential hazard area, and given that you have been nothing if not kind, I simply felt it would be a failure on my part if I did not warn you."

Food Trading is a good idea. More mages, less so. All we need is a group of people to listen to Arkus who he can bark orders to while he studies.

But anyway, please ask the Blue Knight about Alexander Armstrong. I have some worry that Alexander is trying to reclaim outposts from him. If not, he might give us some direction to meet Alexander - if everyone feels up to continuing south and trying to find this mysterious man with his powerful morphic magic. We should, however, send a message to Keddic and make sure everything is ok in the Arcanoworks.

And one idle suggestion: Can Jojo and Ulzrick possibly search for Lu Bu to deliver him some rather creepy-but-hopeful message that the Gift Horse Golem wishes to congratulate Lu Bu on his victory, and we will one day come to visit. Or something like that, just so we know if Lu Bu won his duel, and that we now have an emperor as a friend. Who could one shot the Living Reaper for us, if we needed it

>>194865
See, the only one I think would work would be maybe Lord Dregas. Arkus and Jojo are mages and Jojo isn't gonna get into the front lines and Arkus prefers to just one-shot his foes if he fights at all, and I doubt either would like to have a suit of armor. Ellorika - maybe - but Vespinto and Ulzrick are too stealth-based for big suits. Jezebel, well, we haven't really gotten any good fighting info out of her. She could do well with one, she might not.

However, having golem-suits doesn't mean we need heroes to pilot them, or have heroes in them yet. Get three-to-five. If nothing, we now have a small squad of golem-wearing fighters.

And can we try and get some Ham and some Soap? We're rather close to our next level in both and I would like to see what Soap unlocks.

[For those wanting more mages that could be trusted with your secret, consider this: Lenryt is one of the seven Grand Elder Mages of the Mortal Coil. Next time she has a job, you would be completely within your rights to, assuming successful completion of whatever she requests, asking for some trustworthy mages, as she would likely be able to accommodate that as well. Conversely, you could ask her to help expedite the release of Kyorto from her tower, if you want to go that route.]

”Ah, before I forget, there is another resource I could trade: Do you have any interest in foodstuffs, or-“

”On that subject, I have all I could ever need… Well, unless you have some specialty food.

”..Actually, I can think of one: Perchance do you favor spicy goods? Blair the pepper pickler has some marvelous crafts, That any who fancy spicy foods would likely swoon over.”

”Ho-hoooo? Interesting. Like with the hand-cannons, I’d need a sample first, But that certainly sounds like something I lack. Send some example back when the first caravan arrives, And I’ll let you know if I could use any.”

>>194931
”A curiousity plagues me, that I hope you could alleviate: I heard that Alexander Armstrong, one of the State’s military officers, Is active in these general areas. Have you run into this individu-“

”..Yes, that one. I have run into him a time or two, But for now he seems willing to leave me be… Though I know not how long that will last: He is quite the patriot, and anyone possessing an outpost but a State representative… Seems to aggravate him… which he displays by flexing menacingly.. Prior to meeting him, I was unaware one even could flex in a threatening manner.

>>194906
”..Ah, one more thing I must mention, In light of how generously hospitable you have been: North of Trekel, there is a Core Being partly manifested. I was the one to discover it, but currently the State has… Decided they shall handle the situation. Still, considering how much of a threat this could pose, I feel it only right to warn you: I only ask you not mention you heard of it from me. As of yet, it poses no immediate risk, But… this one seems irregular, trying to circumvent it’s restrictions: Despite being trapped still in a cellar, it is trying to manifest about it’s prison, Gaining freedom without having to wait to be let out, Or for the door barring it to rot away.”

The Blue Knight, who had been moving to leave, turns to face me sharply, and surprises me with a bow, after a moment of careful consideration.

”..Well. I thank you for the wealth of knowledge, And I hope you shall find my return gifts to be satisfactory. Largely due to all I have learned here, I must depart immediately, As there is much to attend to. …And, as it seems Vali… Will not be accompanying me, I ask that, should she choose to stay with you, You provide her with suitable lodgings: A father worries, you know. …It was most illuminating to meet you, mage Mordre, And I imagine we shall have a great many further dealings in the future.”

As The Blue Knight’s party departs, I consider all I have learned, and decide that I should return to the Arcanoworks: Trade is going to be picking up, and I would like to see for myself what has happened in my absence. I start our group marching north, and return to the cave we used as shelter earlier just before nightfall, as the moderate rain becomes a full-scale downpour. Hopefully, the rest of the trip home shall be uneventful. …But the greatest thought that occupies my mind, is that with food having grown so plentiful amongst those who are beholden to me, and metal, both for the crafting of equipment in general and hand-cannons in particular incoming….

I may be ready to establish initial supply lines to Mordreden, the initial reason I even came to the Azelhaedran state.

Slowly but surely, my rise to power is coming together, with my secret still largely intact. …Excellent.
