About packing, let's pack enough supplies for 3 days - that's the 2 days of the trip plus a day extra. That's food, clothes and everything else you'll need.
About what to buy, you have most of what you'll need. The important ones you don't have right now are a map, a canteen and a compass if you can get one cheap enough.

Okay, time for a little firearm discussion.

Rifles are, intrinsically, offensive weapons. They are designed for no other purpose than killing efficiently. They sacrifice many aspects desirable for self defense for this increased lethality.

Fayz, so far as I am aware, does not intend, or wish to kill anybody. The only intrest she has expressed in weapons was for the purpose of self defense.

Because of this, she would be best served by something like a compact pistol with a detachable box magazine (Walther PP in 9mm short for instance). Or at most, a compact SMG.

We don't need a full scale rifle, because we do not intend to fight full scale battles.

I would not give Fayz any firearms because the recoil would send her flying.

Barely any guns have recoil that strong. You'd need an anti-tank rifle or something.

Regardless, Fayz has problems with the reloading part, so optimally she'd want a gun with a very large magazine or a gun that can be reloaded with one hand. A long rifle she can pin against herself might work while reloading, but that's awkward to aim with one hand. I can't figure out any way to use the upper arm to assist with aiming.
