Casey tries to ignore the death stare and stands up, wearing her nudity like a coat of armor. “You’re an angel aren’t you? That explains how you got in, I suppose. What’s your name?”
”Reprise” one word, telepathically hissed between invisible teeth.
“Okay, Reprise. Uh! Kol! We have a- an angel here for us?” She shouts out over the water.
Kol’s head peeks out from behind the waterfall and zips back, as him and Caleb have a hushed discussion.
“Ah, okay! Gimme a minute!” He calls back.
Casey nods and tells the visitor, “You caught us at a, uh, bad time.”
The angel has no nose or mouth with which to indicate its expression, nevertheless, it sneers. ”I see that”
After a short shower and scrub, Kol joins them. Casey raises an eyebrow at the sight of the fresh teeth-marks, but refrains from comment. “Alright, let’s hear this message.”
There’s a kind of telepathic static, as though a throat was being cleared before the angel recites, ”Low, and bear witness to the wisdom of the Seers of the Court of the Reflected Sky. For they have foretold: that upon sunrise of the next day, the three mice shall cross the stilled waters and embark upon the great barge of the Court of the Reflected Sky; after which they will sail from this place as the guests of the court for the duration of one year.”
