HOLD ON A LITTLE LONGER I THINK SOME PLACES ON THIS PLANET ARENT FUTURE YET.
MAYBE WE ALL HAVE TO BE FUTURE TO REALLY GET THAT FUTURE FEEL.
ALSO I NEARLY DIED TONIGHT. IT WAS AWESOME. THE LARGEST ROCKET WE HAD (I DONT KNOW HOW LARGE, I THINK PROBABLY TEN MEGATON AT LEAST) DECIDED TO SAY "FUCK YOU, INTENDED FLIGHT PATH" AND INSTEAD DID A SERIES OF MANEUVERS THAT WE COULD ONLY DESCRIBE AS 'SOME KIND OF MAGIC BACKFLIPS'.
ONE SUCH MAGIC BACKFLIP BROUGHT THE AWOL MISSILE WITHIN A DISTANCE OF MY FACE THAT WE COULD ONLY DESCRIBE AS "MAYBE TOO CLOSE".
I WAS LIBERALLY BATHED IN BEAUTIFULLY, DISFIGURING SPARKS. FORTUNATELY I WAS WEARING SUNGLASSES, AS I OFTEN DO AT NIGHT.
THE OFFENDING PROJECTILE, HAVING SUCCESSFULLY COVERED ME IN ITS GLOWING DISCHARGE, DECIDED TO GIVE ONE FINAL FLAMING MIDDLE FINGER TO THE WORLD, AND SO BURIED ITSELF IN IN THE CORNER OF MY GARDEN.
THE RESULTING EXPLOSION BROKE MY ADMITTEDLY SHODDY FENCE, AND SET NEXT-DOOR'S TREE ON FIRE. LIKE I SAID; IT WAS AWESOME.
OF COURSE THEN THE PEOPLE NEXT-DOOR CAME OUT. AFTER DISCUSSING THE MERITS OF INCENDIARY DEVICES AND PLANTS-THAT-ARENT-ON-FIRE, WE CAME TO THE AGREEMENT THAT BURNING TREES IS "NOT GOOD".
I ACTUALLY ALREADY KNEW THIS, BUT THEY SEEMED REALLY SURE THAT I HAD SOMEHOW FORGOTTEN THIS PIECE OF CHILDHOOD KNOWLEDGE, SO I PLAYED ALONG.
