@#$%ing reconnection issues...
Hello? Okay, we're good. Sorry about that.
Sorry, but I see that this condition could lead to abusive loopholes in the future. Can we set up a contract so that there is fair trade?
A. Nem needs that collar to neutralize Grendel, and save her village. There are other ways to neutralize Grendel, but this was the best known plan.
B. Grendel is a threat to mortal communities, is on the verge of compromising his status as a fae citizen by inciting war with mortals, and both communities would agree that restraining Grendel (and Macha) from killing more people is probably one of the best possible options, seeing as how people on both sides of the conflict are in danger of being killed, regardless of who is more morally sound to their own civilization.
C. You, the Admin, are willing to kill us if such an act is more profitable than co-operation. Likewise, Macha is willing to attack further fae for reasons of her own, whether this results in a higher or lower success rate of Nem's mission.
We find, obviously, that a loan will suffice. Once Nem has successfully neutralized Grendel with the collar, she will have no further need of it. We also find that we do not express a desire to see Nem and her descendants bound by further laws, as this may lead to tragedy due to obstructive bureaucracy. You guys are pretty badass when it comes to hard and cruel work, huh?
How about the following negotiation:
1. In exchange for a writ of passage to the vault, Nem and her party will not cripple or kill any further fae who abide by (and are protected by) the writ of passage until they have successfully left fae grounds. Fae in agreement with the writ of passage are unable to attack unless in self-defense, and Nem's party will be allowed to attack any fae protected by the writ of passage at any time but cannot cripple or kill said fae on pain of death. However, there will be an exception: if any fae bound by the writ of passage is in the process of assaulting or torturing anyone not included in Nem's party, then for all intents and purposes that fae is written off as an exception to the contract and can be crippled and/or killed if marked by Nem's party (pointed and/or shouted at). This will prevent abusive goading and taunting by proxy. Note that the boundary between fae and mortal communities is any and all portals/paths/gateways between the realspace-connected mortal-owned planet, and the fae spaces.
2. Once inside the vault, Nem will be allowed to take the Collar which has been agreed for trade in the contract. Other objects may be borrowed or outright taken, but only with the permission of the administrator. Failure to ask permission before acquiring an object in the vault the administrator has permission to nullify the contract.
3. Silver Contract: While this contract is open, Nem and her descendants will be unable to execute any being who holds a piece of authorized silver by using the Black Wolf. Since it is possible that silver particles can latch onto persons by means of dust, authorized silver is declared as any solid mass of silver with number of silver atoms equivalent to the number of atoms found in the left and/or right eye of the being who is Nem or a descendant of Nem and in control of the Black Wolf, whichever number of atoms is smaller. If the being in control of the Black Wolf does not have a working eye, then this contract is invalid for that person. Nem or a descendant of Nem must see the silver and be in control of the Black Wolf for the following to take effect: If the person who is in possession or ownership of the aforementioned silver is executed by the Black Wolf, the contract is breached, and the person who ordered the execution is marked by fae. This contract will open when the collar is taken from the vault, and close when the collar is returned to a representative of the fae who is expected to return the collar to its destination, when the collar is placed in a space owned by any being who has partial control and/or ownership of the vault (includes the space within one meter of the body of such a person), or when the collar is returned to the vault.
4. Once the collar is returned into official fae hands, with the intent of returning the collar to a fae representative who will, in turn, return the collar to the vaults, the Silver Contract is declared closed. If the collar is returned to the vault where it existed, the Silver Contract is declared closed. If the collar is placed within any space owned by a person or persons who are in control of the vault or the vault's belongings, the Silver Contract is closed. All breaches in time in space which are a result of causality after the closure of the Silver Contract are considered null and void, until such a time that a new contract based on the condition is opened.
In short, Nem and her descendants agree to never kill or cause the death of someone who carries a piece of authorized silver that can be held, until they return the collar. You, the administrator, do not allow the fae under your jurisdiction to assault Nem or any member of her party until such a time as she has officially left fae grounds.
I know you guys don't usually follow the sprit of the law, but people are dying and the solution is right there, ready to be traded to the right people. Do you really want the further deaths of immortal fae on your conscience because a good girl wanted to make things right but couldn't see the right path?
